Leave the modern world behind and step back in time at the Lord Admiral House. The building itself is steeped in history – constructed in 1865 after fire destroyed the original 1852 hotel. Over time it has been lovingly maintained and restored, today combining modern comforts with all the charm of yesteryear. Inside the bluestone foundations and brick walls, four of nine fireplaces are still used, some with slow combustion heaters installed.
Lord Admiral House sits on one and a half acres of landscaped gardens, fruit trees and a vegetable patch. The gardens are a wonderful place to relax on sunny days, and a source of fresh ingredients.
Inside and out, there’s space, privacy and comfort for you to enjoy.
ACCOMMODATION
Lord Admiral House contains three spacious bedrooms, each with a luxurious queen size bed. The deluxe room includes an en-suite bathroom, while the other two rooms share a large bathroom.
Each room is traditionally decorated and filled with character. At any time you can curl up in the comfort of the guest’s lounge with its wood fire, library, TV and DVD player.
There is a separate breakfast room where a sumptuous farm style cooked breakfast is provided. Alternatively, weather permitting, breakfast can be taken on the outdoor deck.
