About Marysville

Marysville has a population of about 600 people. This quiet sub-alpine village was established in 1863 as a stopover for diggers on the way to the nearby Woods Point goldfields. Today, the town is well known for its beautiful gardens and scenery, and as a gateway to year-round outdoor activities.

The town streets are a riot of colour in spring, when cottage gardens come alive with blossoms of dogwood, azaleas and rhododendrons. The wonderful avenue of century-old oak trees in the main street form a cooling canopy in summer, and a golden display in autumn. Marysville is in the next valley to Lake Mountain, Melbourne’s closest ski fields, and is surrounded by waterfalls and tall forests of mountain ash.

For seventy years discerning holiday makers (and Marysville’s famous King Parrots) have enjoyed the bed and breakfast accommodation at Kerami Guest House in Marysville.

Nestled in a sumptuous glade of shade trees, Kerami offers peace and tranquility reminiscent of a more languid era. Stretch those muscles, weary from exploration, in front of a crackling open fire, or maybe enjoy a book on the verandah, shunning the exercise in favour of a well-earned rest. Have a Massage or Facial adding that little some special to your stay.

At Kerami your time is your own. Kerami is an intimate destination. With four inviting en-suite bedrooms, visitors never feel hampered by the crowds they came to escape. Experience romantic candlelit dining, specialising in local food produce. Have a sleep-in! You’ve earned this holiday, and breakfast is served until 10:00am every day.

If the fancy takes you, challenge your companions at billiards in the baronial comfort of the Great Room; or feed the parrots, listen to the silence. After all, isn’t that what a holiday is for?

Marysville is very much like that - laid-back ambience complemented by a style of accommodation at Kerami Guest House which reinforces the mood!
